I feel like I need to write a better explanation as to why I stopped blogging. I wasn’t happy with the quality of work I was producing. I felt that it looked repetitive, overly edited, faked, forced, stiff, etc. A lot of the time I put so much on myself, that the pressure of it all caused me to push out whatever. And i’ll admit, it looked horrible. So many times I would catch myself trying to photograph do-overs to replace the old. I was never happy with my work, and I had no idea how to improve. I tried looking to other bloggers for inspiration, because I didn’t even know what my blog style was. So I was constantly hopping around with a new theme, and as you’d expect – it looked bad. I was also HORRIBLE with blog post names, and still am.
Secondly, I wasn’t happy with my avatar and how I presented her anymore. I feel anyone could look at my old pictures and see that, yeah it looked like shit. Nothing looked well put together, and if it was, it was goth. In real life, when I was in HS I was very goth & because of it I was harassed all the time. The way people talked about me made me feel so terrible, I tried cutting peices of myself off to fit in. It worked, but I didn’t feel like me. After graduation, I tried making an attempt to be me again, some people argued with me that it wasn’t who I am. Unfortunately after this, something happened in my life that made me so self-concious. It caused me to lose myself, hate myself, to change myself into a different version of me. So I attempted to do the same in SL. Until I realized SL could be a safe space to dress the way I felt most comfortable. I also felt like I needed to showcase how universal/inclusive I could be while blogging. Until I got sick of it, and changed all together. The photos still looked like hot garbage though, don’t get me wrong.
So I wanted to take a break, figure out what it was that I really wanted from this game. So far it seems, I really enjoy creating. I’m having much more fun. I take pictures when I really have an idea in mind, and I am (for once) truly enjoying the quality of work i’m producing.
So in conclusion, it looked bad & I wanted to showcase real me. I notice how I refer ‘girly’ Karme in third person, because she was fake.
As much as i’d like to believe I have supporters, i’ll still thank the ones who did follow me & actually enjoyed my work for the hot steaming pile of garbage it was. Another thank you to the sponsors who seen potential in me. Despite hating my work so much, I did enjoy the happy remarks I received. It motivated me every time. I attempted to improve (and picked up some tricks along the way). I will still host up all of my old work here on this blog, for anyone to look back on – and just comparison for how far I’ve come. I’ve deleted them all from Flickr, so some of them may not be in complete order.
